Kensington Chinatown Annex Neighbourhood Network

The Kensington-Chinatown-Annex Neighbourhood Network is one of five Neighbourhood Networks in the Toronto South LIP formed to develop strategies that coordinate and enhance service delivery to newcomers.  The Network is an opportunity for agencies to continue to meet and discuss local settlement and newcomer issues, update each other on current programs and services and provide feedback to the Toronto South LIP Settlement Strategy and Action Plan.

The Kensington-Chinatown-Annex area generally runs west from Yonge Street to Bathurst Street, and north from Lake Ontario to St. Clair Avenue West (see map), and includes the following official City of Toronto neighbourhoods:

  • Bay Street
  • Waterfront
  • Kensington-Chinatown
  • University
  • Wychwood
  • Annex
  • Casa Loma

According to City of Toronto statistics, approximately 41,000 immigrants live in the Kensington-Chinatown-Annex area, including approximately 8,000 recent immigrants who have been in Canada five years or less.
